rewriteRetiredMethods()#

rewriteRetiredMethods(value): void

Load-path rewrites applied before validate sees a document.

One walk: every object that carries method. Shape-sniffing, not a version branch — SCHEMA_VERSION is inert on load.

defaultKey is catalog-only (OperationSchema / DataStepSchema do not persist it). A leftover key: "material" is the node's identity, not the catalog default, and stays put so expressions that read it keep resolving.
